Why is endoscopic facelift known as the scarless facelift?

Endoscopic facelift is often called the scarless facelift owing to the impressive results it provides through seemingly invisible incisions. Endoscopic facelift is a cosmetic procedure that involves small, inconspicuous incisions which are drawn behind your hairline and thus kept out of sight. The length and location of the incisions naturally make them easier to hide and quite unnoticeable.

This is one of the reasons why endoscopic facelift in Dubai is a widely liked cosmetic procedure. This blog will explain how endoscopic facelift works and what its major benefits are to increase the understanding of the readers regarding this treatment.

What is scarless facelift?

Scarless facelift aims to rejuvenate the way you look by tightening the loose skin and removing excess fat from the target areas. It differs from the traditional facelift procedure in that it does not require extensive incisions that often leave visible post-surgical scars. Scarless facelift is generally known as endoscopic facelift because it involves the use of an endoscope – a small lit camera that guides the Plastic Surgeon during their navigation and maneuvering.

The advancement of technology has enabled the practitioners to administer such cosmetic treatments without having to completely detach the skin from the underlying structures. Board Certified Plastic Surgeons are also able to perform the surgery more precisely and thus get accurate results with the help of the endoscope. All this naturally makes endoscopic facelift a less invasive procedure which is more effective and minimizes risks while ensuring a faster recovery.

Expected Benefits of endoscopic facelift

Patients can expect to obtain the following benefits from endoscopic facelift:

·         Tightened skin with lifted upper and middle region of the face

·         Reduced jowls due to removal of extra fat

·         No more droopy cheeks

·         Overall youthful facial profile

·         No more tired-looking appearance

·         Faster recovery

·         No visible scarring

·         Greater precision

Procedure

Endoscopic facelift is performed as an outpatient procedure under general anesthesia or local anesthesia with sedation. It usually takes 2 to 3 hours to finish and does not require long stays at the clinic following the surgery.

During the procedure, your Plastic Surgeon begins by drawing several small incisions behind the hairline. These incisions are strategically placed at certain distances from each other to allow maximum access for the Provider. Once the cuts are drawn, the Practitioner enters the endoscope through an opening and uses it to make their way to the inaccessible parts of your face.

With the help of surgical instruments, they then remove the unwanted fat cells from the target regions. The skin is also pulled taut and fixed in place with the help of internal sutures. It is important to mention here that loose skin is not removed during endoscopic facelift surgery, it is only tightened to improve your appearance. Also, no hair are removed as the incision are only 5 to 10 mm in length.

Once the above-mentioned changes have been made, the incisions are closed with the help of adhesives or sutures. Finally, a compression bandage is wrapped around the treated areas to ensure a smooth and safe recovery for the patient.

Recovery

It is normal to feel slight pain, bruising, and swelling after the endoscopic facelift surgery. However, these signs go away on their own after a few days or week. It is very important that you follow the instructions of your Plastic Surgeon during recovery phase to avoid complications.

It is generally advised that you wear the compression bandage for at least 2 weeks following the facelift procedure. You should also avoid strenuous exercises and lifting of heavy weights as this can affect the surgical results. Steer clear of smoking and alcohol too since both can rob your wounds of critical nutrients that they so badly need.

Most patients are able to resume routine activities within 7 to 10 days of the surgery. And they get to enjoy the results for the next 5 to 10 years depending on their health, lifestyle, and the skill of their provider.
