What Is Facial Sculpting?

No doubt, maintaining smooth and chiseled contours of the face is desired by people of all ages. Your face determines the first impression you make on another person which is why visible signs of weight gain or ageing can greatly impact your self-esteem. Fortunately, it is possible to restore the angular contours of your face through a cosmetic procedure we’ll discuss in this blog.

If you’re looking for well-sculpted cheekbones and defined features, facial sculpting in Dubai is just the procedure for you. Let’s see how this treatment works, and how it can be used to improve the aesthetics of your face.

How does facial sculpting work?

Facial sculpting essentially involves the procedure of liposuction. Liposuction has been used for decades to slim larger areas of the body, including the abdominal region and thighs. However, this procedure is just as effective at enhancing your facial features as it involves removing the stubborn fat deposits to redefine your contours.

Facial sculpting typically focuses on areas of the face with the highest fat accumulation, such as the neck, under the eyes, and cheeks. This not only gives the face a slimmer and more refined tone, but it can also take several years off your perceived age.

Expected Benefits

Facial sculpting can deliver dramatic results. You can expect the following benefits after this procedure:

·         A sculpted and toned look for the face

·         No more chubby cheeks

·         Angular jawline and cheekbones

·         Permanent removal of fat cells

·         Youthful look

·         Increased self-esteem and confidence

Are you an ideal candidate?

A thorough consultation with your Plastic Surgeon can help evaluate whether you should opt for this procedure or not. Patients must maintain realistic expectations and are advised to reach their desired, stable weight before the procedure to see full results. Any individual in good health can safely undergo facial sculpting, however, one must be a non-smoker or quit smoking before the surgery.

Procedure

Facial sculpting is performed as an outpatient procedure, and lasts between 30 minutes to an hour. The Plastic Surgeon will typically administer local anesthesia intravenously before the surgery begins. He or she may inject the region with a saline and epinephrine solution to minimize the risk of bleeding or bruising during maneuvering.

The Practitioner will then create small incisions along the submental crease, located right below the chin. He or she will next insert thin tubes called cannulas to suction excessive fat out of the facial region. After the fat is removed, incisions will be closed with dissolvable sutures. Your Plastic Surgeon will finally wrap the area in a compression garment to reduce swelling during the healing period.

Recovery

Although the healing period for facial sculpting varies from patient to patient, you may recover within a few weeks of the treatment. Full results of facial sculpting can be seen within 4-6 weeks once the swelling has gone down. The skin of your face will continue to adjust to its new contours over the next few months.

Patients should feel little to no discomfort following facial sculpting. Any post-operative swelling is expected to resolve itself within a few days. Although, most patients can resume their normal activities after 2-3 days, however they must avoid strenuous physical activity.
