What to Expect From an Endoscopic Facelift?

An endoscopic facelift is a cosmetic procedure which involves tightening the skin and readjusting the tissues of the face in a less invasive way as compared to a traditional facelift. It differs from the latter in that it does not require drawing of long incisions that go around one’s ear and ascends into the hairline. Instead, several small cuts are made behind the hairline to achieve the sterling results.

Endoscopic facelift in Dubai provides higher precision, clearer view, and improved access to the Plastic Surgeons performing the surgery. This blogs explains what cosmetic benefits you can expect from this type of facelift.

What is an “Endoscopic” Facelift?

An endoscope is a small lit camera that helps Plastic Surgeons in navigating the internal structures by increasing the visibility of the underlying tissue of the face. By assisting the maneuvering, an endoscopic facelift enables the Practitioners to treat areas that aren’t typically accessible, for instance, upper third region of the face which presents with issues like crow’s feet, under eye bags, and sagging brows.

What to Expect From an Endoscopic Facelift?

You can expect the following aesthetic benefits from an endoscopic facelift:

· Tightened skin that looks firmer

· Well-contoured and sharp jawline

· Reduced frown lines on the forehead and between the eyes

· Elevated and arched eyebrows

· Minimized crow’s feet (lines around the outer edges of the eyes)

· Lifted cheeks

· Smooth and youthful-looking skin texture

It is important to note that endoscopic facelift does not remove the sagging skin from the face, unlike traditional facelift. The loose skin is only repositioned in an optimal way to redefine the contours of the face.

Endoscopic facelift is also known as “Scar-less Facelift” since the small incision scars remain well-hidden in the hair. The surgery requires less downtime and has a quicker recovery period. It also carries less risk and thus is a comparatively safer procedure for the patients.

What Is The Procedure Of Surgery?

Endoscopic facelift is performed in an outpatient setting. The process begins with a detailed consultation session with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon who specializes in such surgeries. During the meeting, your medical history is evaluated and you are be examined to determine the suitability of the procedure. You are also be informed about the procedure, benefits, risks, and post-operative care of the endoscopic facelift to prepare you better for the treatment.

On the day of the surgery, the Plastic Surgeon will begin by administering general anesthesia or local anesthesia with sedation. This is done to ensure that you don’t experience any pain or discomfort during the process.

Afterwards, the Plastic Surgeon will make several 2-3 mm long incisions on the head at a certain distance from each other. Cuts drawn on the temporal side are usually 1 cm long. Also, no hair are removed during this step.

The Plastic Surgeon then enters the endoscope through the incision and navigates through the skin, muscles, and fatty tissue to reach the target areas. The endoscope eliminates the need to detach extensively the different layers of the tissue to treat the face.

Once there, Plastic Surgeons remove the extra fat and pull back the skin to give it a lifting effect. Internal muscles are also repositioned and no skin is trimmed or removed during this process. Finally, the incisions are closed with the help of adhesives or sutures and drainage pipes are put in place to avoid fluid accumulation during recovery.
