Does a brow lift make you look better?
The appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, or creases becomes inevitable once you surpass your prime years. A less anticipated sign of ageing is unwanted, sagging skin on the face. The brows, in particular, can dramatically alter your perceived age due to the accumulation of loose soft tissue.
Drooping eyebrows can cause you to
look worn out and unapproachable in social settings. Fortunately, a brow lift
can counter this phenomenon by restoring your youthful appearance.
A brow lift in Dubai, also known as
browplasty, tucks away any unwanted skin and reduces the appearance of wrinkles
on the forehead. This cosmetic procedure delivers long-lasting results and
greatly enhances your facial aesthetics.
Typically, your Plastic Surgeon
presents the option of a classic, endoscopic or temporal brow lift. Here is why
you should consider a brow lift, and what these procedures entail.
Expected Benefits
Here’s how a brow lift helps you look better:
·
Elevated and repositioned brow arches
·
Smoother skin on the forehead region
·
Reduced appearance of wrinkles and fine lines
·
Restored youthful appearance
·
Correction of a “furrowed”
Types of brow lift
There are different types of brow
lifts that can be pursued to reverse the effects of ageing. There is no right
choice – the ideal procedure depends on your specific goals and requirements.
You can expect your Plastic Surgeon to provide one of the following options:
·
Classic brow lift: This procedure effectively
corrects the appearance of sagging eyebrows but results in a higher hairline.
The results of a classic brow lift are dramatic; it targets the entire brow and
forehead region, giving the face a tighter and more alert look.
·
Endoscopic brow lift: An endoscopic brow lift
is minimally invasive and offers a faster recovery than the classic approach.
This procedure elevates the brows and reduces the appearance of lax skin.
·
Temporal brow lift: This approach targets only
the outer third region of the eyebrow. A temporal brow lift can smooth out fine
lines and provide a chiseled look to the upper face.
Procedure
The procedure for a brow lift
varies on whether the Plastic Surgeon is performing a classic, temporal, or any
other kind of brow lift. The procedure can take anywhere between 1-3 hours.
Your Plastic Surgeon typically
administers general or local anesthesia with sedation before the procedure
begins.
·
For a classic brow lift, a long incision is made
from ear to ear along the patient’s hairline. The forehead is then elevated to
its new position, and any excess skin is trimmed off. Any incisions made are
stitched shut, or secured with surgical glue.
·
An endoscopic brow lift involves making several
small incisions hidden in the hairline. The Plastic Surgeon then uses fiber
optic equipment to lift the forehead tissues into the patient’s desired
position. The tissues are then anchored into place using stitches or screws.
The incisions made are closed with either stitches or clips.
·
A temporal brow lift is the least invasive out
of the three procedures. The Plastic Surgeon creates small incisions behind the
hairline near the temple region. Any loose skin is pulled taut through these
incisions to achieve a lifted appearance for the brows. The Surgeon then closes
incisions the incisions made with stitches.
Recovery
The recovery period varies from
patient to patient, and depends on the type of procedure performed. Typically,
endoscopic and temporal brow lifts require less time for full recovery than the
classic procedure. Patients can return home on the day of the surgery.
The Plastic Surgeon usually provides
instructions that must be followed to ensure proper healing. These will include
avoiding intense physical activity for a few weeks after the surgery. Patients
will also be instructed on managing the surgical site; changing bandages
frequently will promote healing.
