What to Expect Before and After Ultherapy

Before Ultherapy

  • Consult with a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon. Consulting an experienced provider is important before making up your mind about undergoing Ultherapy. During the consultation, you will discuss your concerns and set your realistic goals then he/she will examine you and determine whether Ultherapy is the best treatment for you. If you are a good candidate for Ultherapy, your practitioner will tell you what you can realistically expect from the procedure.
  • Preparing for Ultherapy. This is a fairly easy-going procedure and requires minimal preparation beforehand. Normal routine, eating and drinking habits plus physical activities are usually maintained before the procedure. No other skin treatment procedures are required before your Ultherapy treatment but taking an over the counter painkiller just before the treatment to help in minimizing any discomfort that may arise during the procedure. It is advised to consult with your practitioner before taking any form of medication.
  • Preparing the treatment area. On the day of the procedure, you should remove any makeup and skin products from the treatment area before the procedure. The procedure generally takes between 30 to 90 minutes depending on the treatment area.

After Ultherapy

You can resume your normal routine immediately after the session. The results are gradual as the body’s healing process starts at a deeper level of the skin. Results appear in the next three to six months following the treatment and at their peak, the appearance of a firmer profile is achieved as the levels of collagen are successfully increased.
